What is the meaning of augmented reality?

Augmented reality is an interactive experience in which computer-generated perceptual information is added to the real-world environment. This environment allows users to interact with elements augmented by the computer. Augmented reality can be used for various purposes, such as navigation, gaming, and learning, and its potential to improve user experience is gaining popularity.

Augmented reality (AR) technology allows people to see and interact with virtual objects and information in the real world. It is achieved through smartphones, tablets, or specialized glasses, equipped with cameras and sensors to detect the user's surroundings.

When people look through an AR device, they see the real world before them, but they also see virtual objects and information superimposed on top of the real world. For example, if you are using an AR app on your phone, you might see a virtual map displayed on top of the street in front of you, or you might see a virtual character standing next to you in a park.

AR can be used in various ways, such as for entertainment, education, or marketing. For example, you might use an AR app to play a game, learn about a new place, or try on virtual clothes or makeup.

AR is different from virtual reality (VR), which is a technology that allows people to immerse themselves in a simulated environment fully. In VR, the user is completely disconnected from the real world and can only see and interact with the virtual environment.
