Rätselvermehrung is an alternative creativity tool based on combining problems of different sorts to find solutions in an indirect way.

Rätselvermehrung or proliferation of the conundrum is a technique developed by Gunnar Heinsohn, a German sociologist and professor at the University of Bremen. The technique consists of combining numerous unconnected problems to each other in order to create a new consciousness and awareness.

The technique is an alternative to other creativity tools such as Brainstorming, Six Thinking Hats, Problem Tree Analysis, Metaplan or Mind Mapping that can be used in groups or alone. Rätselvermehrung basically stimulates to come across solutions in an indirect way.

The efforts needed to screen, analyze. compare and find the differences between the most disparate and unrelated problematic situations helps to build up new ideas, solutions and approaches.

This method is conceptual similarities with the Bisociation concept.[1]
