What is Systems Modeling Language (SysML)?

SysML (Systems Modeling Language) is a standardized language for modeling systems and their behavior. It is based on the Unified Modeling Language (UML), and is designed to support the modeling of a wide range of systems, including engineering systems, business processes, and software systems.

SysML provides a set of graphical and textual notation elements that can be used to represent the structure, behavior, and requirements of a system. It includes a range of diagram types, such as block diagrams, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams, which can be used to represent different aspects of a system.

SysML is used by systems engineers and other professionals to design, analyze, and verify the behavior of complex systems. It is particularly useful for modeling systems that have multiple interacting components and that are subject to changing requirements or conditions.

SysML is a standardized language, and its notation and semantics are defined in the SysML specification. It is supported by a range of tools and platforms, including modeling tools, simulation tools, and code generation tools.
