Vital Business Function (VBF)
Vital Business Function (VBF) is a function of a Business Process that is critical to the success of the Business. Vital Business Functions are an important consideration of Business Continuity Management (BCM), 0IT Service Continuity Management, and Availability Management. From an ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), a VBF describes some critical elements of a business process underpinned by IT. A VBF is not normally an entire business function like accounts payable or even accounts receivable, but rather a critical aspect of a business function.[1]
