Financial Services Function Model (FSFM)

The Financial Services Function Model (FSFM) defines a set of independent business functions that must be managed by a financial institution in order to operate successfully. The function model breaks down the overall business into smaller functions until a list of non-overlapping, discrete functions is developed. The key objective of the model is to align executive-level goals as well as the general policies and directives throughout financial services organizations with the supporting information systems, applications, and processes. Functional modeling supports the identification of project scope for a single project and the comparison of project scopes for multiple projects.
