Year 2000 (Y2K)

Year 2000, also known as Y2K, was a problem that many computer systems had in the year 2000. The problem was that many older computer systems used two digits to represent the year in a date (for example, "99" for 1999), and when the year changed to 2000, the computer systems would interpret the year as 1900 instead of 2000. This could cause problems with the way the computer systems worked, such as incorrect calculations or data being stored in the wrong place.

To fix the Y2K problem, people had to update the computer systems to use four digits to represent the year (for example, "2000" for the year 2000). This involved changing the computer systems' software and hardware, and it was a big job that took a lot of time and money.

Y2K was a concern for many people because it could have caused serious problems if it wasn't fixed. Fortunately, with the help of computer experts and technicians, the Y2K problem was fixed and most computer systems were able to continue working as normal.
