RAPID Approach

The RAPID Approach is a decision-making framework developed by Bain & Company, designed to help organizations clarify roles and responsibilities when making decisions. RAPID is an acronym for the five key roles involved in the decision-making process: Recommend, Agree, Perform, Input, and Decide.

  1. Agree (A): The person or group that must sign off on or approve the recommendation before it moves forward. This role ensures that all key stakeholders are on board with the proposed course of action.
  1. Perform (P): The person or group responsible for executing the decided course of action. This role involves implementing the decision and ensuring its successful execution.
  1. Input (I): The person or group providing input, feedback, or expertise to inform the decision-making process. This role ensures that the decision is well-informed and takes into account various perspectives.
  1. Decide (D): The person or group with the final decision-making authority. This role has the responsibility to make the ultimate decision, taking into consideration the recommendations, input, and any agreed-upon constraints.
